As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life." John 9:1-4
In 1998, I was working for UPS and touring the country professionally with Gospel music artists. While working at UPS one day, I just couldn't read the scanner anymore. Without any reason or warning, my sight deteriorated rapidly. I went to the doctor where they performed various tests, and determined that I was legally blind. Although they diagnosed me legally blind, they could not find the cause. By 2001, I was totally blind. Needless to say, the Wilson families' lives changed dramatically. Although my wife worked, I was the main breadwinner for the family. Since I could no longer work for UPS, Regina was forced to find full time employment. I had also stopped touring as a professional musician. God has been able to meet us, and provide all our needs according to His riches in glory. I thank God for the wonderful friend/helpmate he has given me in my wife, Regina. For as long as I can remember, I have been playing the piano, keyboard, and organ. There is always music playing in my head, and there are notes and chords that I would hear but could not play. While playing my instruments blind, these notes and chords became a part of me so that what I used to hear and not play now flows through me. My musical arrangements are so much better in blindness. Since I
have not been able to tour with artists, I have been able to spend the time necessary to write and record the
Christ Jesus music project. His works are evident, and He is
worthy of all praise! Glory! Hallelujah! |
